One-time in-Person | Registration opens 8/26/25 10:00 AM
The National Museum of the Pacific War is located in Fredericksburg, Texas, which is over 1,000 miles from any ocean; this class will explain why. Chester Nimitz, one of the top American military leaders of World War II, is little remembered today. We’ll look at his early life, career, and remarkable achievements managing the most complex naval war in history. Greg Gajus has taught many OLLI classes including a history of NASA, baseball analytics, Cincinnati Reds, WKRP in Cincinnati, and Dwight Eisenhower, who shares many similarities with Nimitz.
