Fueled by MGM's Arthur Freed Unit, original Hollywood musicals hit their stride from the early 1950s through the early 1970s. Through film clips and discussion, we'll review many of the musicals during that period. Movies featured include "White Christmas", "A Star is Born", "The Lady and the Tramp", "Daddy Long Legs", "It's Always Fair Weather". "The Court Jester". etc. Featured actors include Judy Garland, Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Fred Astaire, Leslie Caron, and Danny Kaye.

Moderator: Doug Iden is a big fan of movies and theatrical musicals with an extensive collection of films and original Broadway scores. He has taught classes on Broadway and film at OLLI for many years.
