Splashy news stories get good ratings but they aren’t always based on solid evidence. This is a class for non-scientists! We’ll briefly review the scientific process and good research practices. Then we’ll use real examples (on non-controversial topics) to demonstrate ways to be better equipped to understand scientific information in the media. Presenter Linda Winslow is a retired industrial research chemist and research manager with a PhD in chemistry.
