1130 Two Stephens on Broadway and in Hollywood
multi-week ZOOM | Registration opens 8/26/25 10:00 AM
Stephen Sondheim and Stephen Schwartz were two the most popular and most significant composer/lyricists in the second half of the 20th century on both Broadway and Hollywood. Sondheim revolutionized musicals, and Schwartz added his own touches. Through film clips and discussion, we will highlight the careers of both men by featuring shows including "Company," "Follies," "Sweeney Todd," "Pippin", "Godspell," and "Wicked" plus several movie scores.
Moderator: Doug Iden is a big fan of movies and theatrical musicals with an extensive collection of films and original Broadway scores. He has taught classes on Broadway and film at OLLI for many years and has received OLLI's Stephen Appel Award for excellence in teaching.
