When we think of the “Old West,” our mental images are often influenced by the Hollywood version of cowboys, but reality is much more varied and interesting. In this presentation, we’ll take a look at the differences between the cowboys of the silver screen and the actual people who rode the range. We’ll also learn about the ways that depictions of cowboys have changed with changing times.

Doug Iden is a big fan of movies and theatrical musicals with an extensive collection of films and original Broadway scores. He has taught classes on Broadway and film at OLLI for many years. Deb Price is as retired educator who is interested in history.
