If you know the basic moves on a chess board and want to advance your skills and inch or two, this class may be for you. We will begin with basic strategies for the opening game, experiment with middle game moves, and end with some endgame opportunities. This is a low stakes endeavor designed to build your confidence and skill.

Moderator: Steve Kroeger is a retired educator from the UC School of Education, Special Education. His current interests are in drawing and making comics that help develop accessible information. He was a chess coach while teaching middle school and continues to play the game with family members—especially grandchildren.
