2816 Language of the Beasts: Communication with and Between Animals

One-time in-Person | Registration opens 4/1/25 10:00 AM

Explore the language of the beasts—it’s not like Dr. Doolittle. In this presentation, we will investigate communication among human and non-human animals. We’ll begin by discussing communication between humans and animals such as gorillas who were capable of American Sign Language and possibly our own pets. Next, we will evaluate how species communicate within their own species, such as elephants and bees. Lastly, we will find out what we have learned by studying communication across different species, such as whales, dolphins, and many others.
