1245 IN PERSON: Math Before Computers—Back When Math Was Fun
One-time in-Person | Registration opens 4/1/25 10:00 AM
Rick Marra is an engineer by training and consequently has had a lot of math. He has a fascination with why math was developed, and how it was used in pre-computer days. How did people make complicated calculations before computers? What was a 1916 book of logarithms used for? Why did Isaac Newton "have to" invent" calculus? We will tour all these topics and have some fun. We aren't trying to become proficient in math but just understand and appreciate it.
