We'll read Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson; Absalom, Absalom by William Faulkner; Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain; The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane; and The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien. This is not a "professor" type course, and discussion is welcome. Disagree all you want. The course is for your enjoyment, so read what you want, come when you want, and talk a lot or remain quiet. All are welcome. Previous courses have had numerous survivors.
