One-time in-Person | Registration opens 1/3/25 10:00 AM

Learn wide-ranging information about 18th-century Shawnee history and culture, with emphasis on the Shawnee town of Old Chillicothe and the state park that now exists where the town stood. An immersive audiovisual experience imagines the experience of being on the site’s landscape from the 18th century up to today. Great Council State Park is the next chapter of the Old Chillicothe site’s storied history and an important step in the process of bringing Shawnee presence back to Ohio.

Moderator: Jacob Bledsoe is an archaeologist working as a researcher and interpreter at Great Council State Park. He provides educational interpretive programs and tours about Shawnee history and culture to park guests of all ages, with particular focus on the 18th-century site of the Shawnee town of Old Chillicothe, where Great Council is located.
