4404 Read "Hamlet" Aloud--Plus: Shakespeare, His Times, and Much More
Multi-week in-person | Registration opens 1/3/25 10:00 AM
Each week, we'll learn lots of fascinating Shakespeare-related tidbits (the Viking saga of Prince Amleth, history of "theater" in England, medieval ink recipe, forged Shakespeare portraits, his missing skull, creative insults and memorable phrases, other versions of "To Be...," etc.). PLUS, each class, we'll take volunteers for parts and read aloud several scenes of "Hamlet" (non-readers are welcome). Brooding prince, vengeful ghost, poison plot--this is going to be fun! Bring a copy of "Hamlet" to class. (Recommended: The Folger Library edition; the paperback is widely available in two sizes.)
Moderator: Linda Kegg has presented OLLI classes on Extraordinary Women of the Past, The Wars of the Roses and Tumultuous Tudor Era, Life and Times of Will Shakespeare, Origami, etc.
