4406 Henry Winkler: From Dyslexia to Stardom

Using Henry Winkler‘s book Being Henry we will explore the challenges of being a dyslexic growing up in the late 1940s and 1950s. In addition to understanding the educational aspects of dyslexia, we will discuss the emotional impact it can have on an individual. We will also explore how Henry Winkler was able to navigate through life and achieve stardom even , even though he was unable to read.
Moderator: Barb Solomon was a teacher/learning disabilities tutor for 35+ years. In addition to working in a classroom, she had her own tutoring business in which she addressed various learning challenges of her students. In addition to remediating the learning issues, she worked on elevating her students' self-esteem and teaching parents how to be strong advocates for their children.
