Mixed-Media Storytelling
Homeschool | Available
Get ready to turn everyday stuff into amazing art! In this class, students will mix recycled materials—like labels, containers, buttons, and fabric—with paints, papers, and other art supplies to make a unique artwork. This class is inspired by artist Amalia Amaki (Latch Key), featured in the Torggler’s Gateways: African American Art from the Key Collection exhibition, who uses ordinary objects to tell powerful stories. Students will create a piece that shows a “day in their life”—from school and hobbies to favorite foods and fun activities. Let’s see how your everyday world can become a work of art!
