9109. Twill Weave, Square Basket

Class - Wood | Available

Weave and create a beautiful and utilitarian CJL Square Basket. This classic basket form is spiced up with a colorful twill weave and a woven handle, designed in collaboration between Instructor Cheryl, and her fellow basket guild members Judi and Lynn. The project makes a great foundation for beginners and offers fun technical challenges for more experienced basketmakers. You will learn how to split spokes and create a 2 over, 2 under twill pattern in the middle of the basket. After completing the twill pattern with dyed reed, you will learn to bring the spokes back together to finish weaving the top of the basket. Add a wrapped handle as a finishing touch to make this an heirloom basket that is both artistic and functional. Multiple colors of dyed reed will be available to customize your basket. Students can expect to finish class with a 10" square basket. All skill levels are welcome.
