3D Modeling via BLENDER for beginners

Class - Digital Art | Available

This hands-on, project-based workshop is perfect for beginners who are curious about 3D art and want to bring their ideas to life. Over the course of 6 weeks, students will explore the exciting world of 3D modeling using Blender, a free and industry-standard program. Through step-by-step demonstrations, students will learn how to build 3D objects from scratch, navigate digital space, and apply simple colors and materials to their creations. The workshop focuses on the creative process, encouraging experimentation with shapes, tools, and techniques. Students will get to build their own digital props and mini scenes with plenty of instructor support and opportunities to ask questions. No experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to explore! Students will leave the workshop with finished models they can proudly share online or continue developing at home. Both classes will be held in person at Sawtooth School. Ages: Teen - Adult.

  • Materials Needed: Blender, Laptop (Windows 8.1 or newer | macOS 11.2  or newer)

I graduated from High Point University in Fall 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Game Design, and I’m actively pursuing Master’s in the same field. Outside of work, I love 3D modeling, baking, and playing games with friends. I recently started my own company, Del Sol Games, where I focus mainly on 3D modeling, and I’m also working on my first solo game.

When I teach 3D modeling or creative coding, I believe in giving students the foundations they need and then letting them run with their own ideas. What fun is an art or coding class if all we’re doing is making clones of what I make? My goal is to help students take what they’ve learned and use it to create something that’s completely their own.
