SBC, Saturday Bootcamps, are a series of one-day intensive workshops focused on elevating the aptitude and skills of budding (and seasoned) photographers in various photography genres. In this one-day workshop capture confidence, individuality, and style—dedicated to the art and business of photographing high school seniors. Whether you're just getting started or looking to sharpen your skills, this course offers a deep dive into how to create dynamic, personality-driven senior portraits that resonate with both teens and their parents.

You'll learn how to work with natural and artificial light, build rapport with teens, guide posing for flattering and authentic results, and create a modern, marketable portfolio.

  • What You’ll Learn:

    • Planning a successful senior session: communication, scouting, and styling tips

    • Posing techniques for individuals (masculine, feminine, and androgynous styles)

    • Lighting setups for both outdoor and studio environments

    • Using prompts to capture candid and expressive moments

    • Working with props, locations, and outfits to reflect personality

    • Tips for managing parents' expectations while engaging the teen client

    • Basic retouching and editing workflow for senior portraits

    • Pricing, packages, and marketing to high school clients


    Workshop Format:

    • Hour 1: Senior photography essentials – style trends, planning sessions, working with teens

    • Hour 2: Posing and directing for natural, confident portraits

    • Hour 3: Lighting demo – working with natural light and reflectors, plus off-camera flash

    • Hour 4: Live shoot – guided practice with a teen model in outdoor or studio setup

    • Hour 5: Review – editing tips, critique, Q&A, and business/pricing discussion


    What to Bring:

    • Camera (DSLR or mirrorless) and favorite portrait lens

    • Reflector (optional but helpful)

    • Notebook or tablet

    • Laptop with editing software (optional)

    • Comfortable shoes for moving around during the shoot
