Layer by Layer: The Painterly Monotype

In this workshop, students will learn essential printmaking techniques to create unique prints using monotype methods, transfer processes, and layering. This class is designed for beginners, so no prior experience is necessary. Participants will create painterly images on Plexiglass plates using water-soluble crayons and watercolor. Afterward, students will learn how to transfer these images onto paper using a printing press. We will also experiment with layering techniques using Xerox transfers.

- A material fee of $50 will be added at checkout.
- Enrollment is open to participants aged 18 +
- This workshop is designed for beginners, but participants of all skill levels are welcome to attend. You can never stop learning!
Angela Pilgrim
Angela Pilgrim's art has been featured in publications such as The Creative Independent, Pressing Matters and The Getty Archives. Her work is held in both public and private collections both nationally and internationally, including the Newark Public Library, Petrucci Family Foundation Collection of African American Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Pilgrim's participation in group exhibitions is noteworthy, particularly her inclusion in Black Histories, Black Futures at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Printmakers North American Print Biennial and Gadsden Museum of Art. Additionally, she serves as a board member of Frontline Arts in Branchburg, New Jersey.
