Kiln Collections: Experiments with Glass

This course will focus on introductory techniques in kiln-formed glass. Students will begin by learning how to prepare, cut, and assemble fusible sheet glass and move into working with glass frits and powders. A side quest at the torch with stringers will make for a brief introduction to lampworking! The final projects, a small panel or dish, will incorporate different firing processes to showcase textures and shape.

  • Registration will close one month prior to the start of class.
  • A material fee of $40 will be added at check out.
  • Enrollment is open to participants aged 18 +

SaraBeth Post Eskuche

SaraBeth Post Eskuche was born in Harrisburg, PA. She received a BFA in 3D Studios focusing in Glass from the University of Louisville in 2015. From 2019-2021, Post Eskuche participated in the Core Fellowship program at Penland School of Craft. Currently, she lives in Pittsburgh PA, operating the multi-disciplinary glass design brand Ultra Lit.

Post Eskuche has exhibited at Penland Gallery (Penland, NC), Cressman Center for Visual Arts (Louisville, KY), Kentucky Museum of Art (Louisville, KY), WCU Bardo Fine Arts Museum (Cullowhee, NC), Bunker Projects (Pittsburgh, PA), Pittsburgh Glass Center (Pittsburgh, PA). She has taught at The Studio at Corning Museum of Glass, Peters Valley School of Craft, Pittsburgh Glass Center and Foci Minnesota Center for Glass Art. SaraBeth works part-time as the Communications Coordinator at Crafting the Future, a nonprofit organization working to increase creative enrichment by connecting artists of color with opportunities that will help them thrive.
