Painting through the Seasons | Homeschool | 6-8
Class - Youth | Available
Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter: come learn to paint scenes from every season in
this four-week course! Each week, we will explore a different season and create paintings
inspired by the colors, textures, and weather of each period of the year. Through class exercises and games, students will learn painting techniques using acrylic, gouache, and watercolor paints. We will also discuss elements of art such as color, value, and composition. Students can learn in a fun, engaging way and express their creativity by designing and creating their own paintings based on each season!

CLASS INFORMATION:
What to Wear: Art gets messy, so wear clothing suitable for an artist! It sometimes gets chilly in the studios, so an extra layer is recommended.
What to Bring: Sawtooth will provide all materials and supplies needed for class. Students are welcome to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated and a snack to be eaten during a break.
While parents and guardians are more than welcome to stay in the building, we kindly ask that you don't stay with your children during the class. We've found that this can sometimes hinder the creative process.
Parking: Lastly, metered parking is available on Marshall and Spruce Street and is free on evenings and weekends.
Please note that face coverings are now optional on Sawtooth's campus, including in all studios. We ask that you remain respectful of all students and keep in mind that Sawtooth is an inclusive environment. We want everyone to feel supported, safe, and welcome on campus. They're available at our front desk if you need a disposable mask.
Sarah Booze
Born and raised in the foothills of North Carolina, Sarah Katherine Booze has been drawing and painting since the age of 12 but started her professional art career in 2017. A self-taught artist, Sarah always found herself drawn to the beauty and wonder of the natural landscapes of the world and began to paint the places around her. Her paintings are inspired by her home in North Carolina, as well as the many places she travels.
Through color, brushwork, and composition, her art illustrates the tranquility and allure of nature. The landscapes she paints possess a quiet simplicity which invites the viewer to dive in and sit for a while.
