Your home can be a great place to practice and improve your skills as a photographer. Macro, Sunrises, Sunsets, AstroPhotography, color theory, Bird photography and more. In this class we embark on a 3-Week assignment to experiment, capture, and improve our skillset regardless of our tool of choice. i.e. SmartPhone, DSLR, or Mirrorless.
Expect to learn about the following:
-Photo Stacking techniques for Macro and Landscape Photography
-Automated or remote photo tips for Bird Photography
-Settings and post-production for capturing/creating dynamic Sunrise and Sunset Photos
-How angles of light and quality of light dramatically change the look and feel of a photograph. Part of photographing your back yard is knowing when and from what perspective.
-How to think in terms of themes and not just 'individual photographs' to inform the way you photograph.
This class is open to all levels of photo understanding and practice. Please note this is not a class that will teach you how to use your device. A firm understanding of your device and how to adjust your settings is required.

C. Stephen Hurst
C. Stephen Hurst recently moved to Winston-Salem from New York City where he spent many years as a professional photographer and instructor at the International School of Photography. Hurst is a self-taught photographer who emphasizes connection, anticipation, and communication through his process; some of Hurst’s photography clients have included the Disney Family Foundation, Nike, and Columbia Business School.
