Animal Silhouettes and Collage: Mixed Media

Over these 4 weeks we will learn about various collage techniques that use an overlay with a silhouette to create several unique mixed media pieces. Each piece will utilize a different collage or layering technique with your choice of animal silhouettes from those provided.  Students are invited to bring several photos for inspiration. Basic supplies will be provided but students may wish to purchase additional items. Ages 14 and up. ***There will be NO Class on Monday, May 26th (Memorial Day)

  • **Artist can bring several inspiration photos if they would like but instructor will also provide some


    Supplies Kit: provided for use over the duration of the class.


    • Paper 

    • Wood panel (3-4 per person)

    • Background images, materials to use for collage  

    • Animal images 

    • Scissors 

    • Exacto knife for cutting out silhouette 

    • Board to cut on 

    • Tracing paper 

    • Glue 

    • Paint for additional design

Lenkaitis, Bryn
Bryn Lenkaitis

Bryn Lenkaitis is a Pennsylvania native who fell in love with the people and places of North Carolina and decided to make it home about 4 years ago. She has a BA in Art History and Studio Art from IUP where she was given the opportunity to study in both Croatia and Spain – most memorable being her experience backpacking the El Camino de Santiago across Northern Spain.


When she’s not working as a Philanthropic Project Specialist aiding in the fundraising efforts for Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Bryn creates art mainly in acrylics and oils but also experiments with ink and mixed media. Her artwork explores the use of bold color and texture to bring to life both the beautiful adventures and day-to-day places she inhabits. In doing so, she can put down roots in the rich soil of each new community she finds herself in and preserve the transient landscapes along the way that bring her immense joy.
