3 Hour Printmaking Open Studio for Winter Session 2025

Access to the open studio is exclusively available to students who have successfully completed a minimum of two printmaking classes at Sawtooth or have equivalent experience. Interested students must submit an application detailing their previous experience and intentions for studio use. All applications will be reviewed, and approval is required from the Director of Graphics, Print, and Youth Programs before granting access.

 

Below, you will find a comprehensive list of our available facilities, which include various printmaking resources, tools, and equipment designed to support your creative projects.

 

Please be aware that any misuse of the studio, including but not limited to improper handling of equipment, neglecting cleanliness, or unauthorized use of materials, will result in the immediate cancellation of your studio access. You will also be responsible for payment for any damaged items. In such cases, no refunds will be issued. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a safe and productive environment for all users.

 

Please apply for Open Studio here. Once your application has been approved, we will schedule a one-on-one orientation to review studio policies and procedures.

    Wax Paper, Foil, Etc.

    Only non-toxic inks and chemicals are permitted in the print studio. (Ex. Water-based Inks, nothing oil based or toxic)

Stahl, Whitney
Whitney Stahl

Whitney Stahl is a Printmaker, Papermaker, and Book Artist from Asheville, NC. 
She holds a Bachelor’s in Multimedia Arts + Sciences from UNC Asheville and a Master’s in Art + the Book from the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, DC. Whitney has taught at Warren Wilson College, Western Carolina University, and the University of Georgia Cortona, Italian studies abroad program. Most recently, she has worked as an elementary art teacher in the North Carolina public school system.

As Director of Youth Programs, Whitney hopes to bring her enthusiasm for arts education to empower students and foster communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity in the youth of Winston-Salem.
