Calling all animal lovers! Come learn to paint fun animals with acrylic paints in this hands-on, four-week course. We will learn to paint paws-itively adorable cats and dogs, whale-y great sea animals, and toad-ally awesome amphibians.

During class we will discuss various elements of art such as shape, line, and color. Students will
practice their fine motor skills through creating 2-D and 3-D paintings of a variety of animals with acrylic paint.

Thanks to generous donations & supporters, we have expanded scholarship eligibility to include more families! Not sure if you're eligible? Please ask us! To apply, complete this form and submit your proof of income to operations@sawtooth.org

  • CLASS INFORMATION:

What to Wear: Art gets messy, so wear clothing suitable for an artist! It sometimes gets chilly in the studios, so an extra layer is recommended.

What to Bring: Sawtooth will provide all materials and supplies needed for class. Students are welcome to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated and a snack to be eaten during a break.

While parents and guardians are more than welcome to stay in the building, we kindly ask that you don't stay with your children during the class. We've found that this can sometimes hinder the creative process.

Parking: Lastly, metered parking is available on Marshall and Spruce Street and is free on evenings and weekends.

Communication: Please add youth@sawtooth.org to your contact list to ensure that emails do not go to junk mail. I will send an email one week before and the day before with all the necessary information.

Booze, Sarah
Sarah Booze

Born and raised in the foothills of North Carolina, Sarah Katherine Booze has been drawing and painting since the age of 12 but started her professional art career in 2017. A self-taught artist, Sarah always found herself drawn to the beauty and wonder of the natural landscapes of the world and began to paint the places around her. Her paintings are inspired by her home in North Carolina, as well as the many places she travels.

Through color, brushwork, and composition, her art illustrates the tranquility and allure of nature. The landscapes she paints possess a quiet simplicity which invites the viewer to dive in and sit for a while.
