Explore another facet of woodworking in this class that combines fine craftsmanship with practical bushcraft. Learn to make a hunting bow, both a functional tool and a work of art. Beginning with a single board you'll work with the bare minimum of hand tools to craft a primitive weapon. This beginner friendly bow making course will take you from material selection to tool use and get you working in tune with the wood itself to create a supple, elegant bow of your very own.
Additional Information:
- A $20 materials fee is will be added at check out.
- Registration will close one week ahead of the start date to allow adequate time for material sourcing
- This class is open to students ages 16 and up
- Students are encouraged to bring a hatchet or hunting knife to class if applicable, though plenty of tools will be available to work with
Dane Snodgrass
Dane Snodgrass is recently retired and trying to live up to expectations. He is an acclaimed master bowyer having made over 1000 bows over the last 60 years. Dane prefers working with hand tools and traditional designs. He draws most inspiration from our North American 1st Nation and leans toward bows of the Northern Plains. Dane grew up in South Dakota.
