Gold and Glow - Gilding your handmade cards

Gilding is a process of applying gold leaf to a surface. Calligraphers use this technique as a focal
point, sometimes on letters, sometimes as decorative elements. This class will present techniques
for the laying of gold, traditional and modern.This exploration will give students opportunities to
enhance their existing skills. It will add glow (literally light) to their work. Bring your own cards or use the ones we supply. Ages 14 and up.

Joyce Teta has been a devoted calligrapher from an early age and specializes in proper book-making techniques. She founded the Calligraphy Centre in 1984 in the Triad, and has worked for clients such as Maya Angelou and the W-S Mayor.
