Bill Gramley
Bill Gramley is a 1957 Graduate of Davidson College and a 1962 graduate of Moravian Theological Seminary. After serving the Moravian Church for 35 years, Bill returned to his love of drawing. He picked up some old pastels in 1992 and his work with landscapes, still life and seascapes has evolved.
In 1996 Bill began to sell his pastel pictures. He joined Associated Artists of Winston-Salem where he lives and became an exhibiting member in 1999. He enjoys entering juried art competitions and participating in sidewalk festivals. Bill has had solo or joint exhibits in the Wilkes Art Gallery of North Wilkesboro, the Foothills Arts Council in Elkin, the Davidson County Museum of Art in Lexington, the Wayne County Arts Council in Goldsboro, and the Boykin Cultural Center in Wilson – all locations in North Carolina.
Bill sells his pictures in the Sawtooth Shop and other venues. He has won a number of prizes and purchase awards at various shows, the Dixie Classis Fair and the Silverarts Competition. He began teaching pastel workshops in 1999 and is currently teaching at Sawtooth School for Visual Art.
