In this hands-on class you will learn the basics of metal stamping and texturing to create a unique customized design for a personalized necklace or bracelet. We will then learn how to use a technique “dapping” to give your designs more dimension. Skills including hammering, sawing, sanding, drilling and filing and forming will be used to create a variety of customized jewelry pieces. All materials provided. Beginners welcome! Repeat students encouraged to come try new designs!
Nannette Davis
Nannette Davis graduated from Kansas University with a bachelor’s degree in graphic arts and communication and a bachelor’s degree in fine art in metalsmithing. After working as a lead bench and assistant for a jewelry designer in Chicago, she built her studio and started a jewelry line. She worked for 16 years in Gatti-Davis Designs Studio in Colorado then moved to Winston-Salem in 2005 and taught in the public schools through 2011. She teaches classes at Sawtooth and sells her jewelry through craft shows and galleries.
