9041. Outside the Box: Kalimba

Start thinking outside the box by turning it into a musical instrument! Learn and practice cutting your material to size and creating a well fitted miter joint. You'll reinforce this classic joint with splines that add both strength and beauty. In class, we will cover the use of the drill press, table saw, router table and more. Finish up by installing and tuning your kalimba keys and soon you'll be making music! All skill levels are welcome, but previous woodworking experience will be helpful.
Additional Information:
- A Material Fee of $55 will be added at registration.
- Registration will close one week prior to the start of class.
- Registration is open to students aged 18 and up.
Kirk Fry
Kirk Fry is a graphic designer, illustrator and maker of uniquely artistic guitars. Originally from Wheeling, WV, he has always enjoyed drawing, painting, carving and making things with his hands while also working by occupation in the digital world. Kirk is always looking to learn something new and working to combine as many art disciplines as possible in the things he makes.
