620. Adobe Lightroom Basics + (Desktop)
Class - Photography | Available
This Lightroom Basic + is a 5 week intensive workshop as opposed to our previous 3 week offerings. Learn and better understand in detail the how, the why, and the when to use certain tools in addition to best practices for creating an organized and securely backed up library. Lightroom (LrC) is a dense and initially overwhelming program to learn but essential for any digital photographer. Simply put, lightroom has become our 'Dry Darkroom' where average images can become great by applying the proper edits. With weekly step by step tutorials, shared sample raw files, guided assignments, and Q&A's we will help guide you grow into becoming a better photographer post capture. Whether a hobbyist or professional photographer, a smooth, organized workflow is essential in the effective management and editing of a photographic library of images. This 5-week class covers the complete workflow, beginning with organizing, collecting and placing image files into a primary folder location; importing; performing general basic image editing using Adobe Lightroom; and finally exporting and optimizing images for output, be it further editing in Photoshop, printing, or the web.
Please note this class is based on the Adobe Lightroom Classic (LrC) and not the inferior stripped down Lightroom (Lr). If you do not have the correct software Sawtooth will provide you with a link to use the LrC version for free for two months.
- Students should be familiar with their camera’s MENU set-up and are encouraged to bring their own laptops to class to eliminate having to transfer files between home vs. school computers.
