Story Quilt in Style of Faith Ringgold

Faith Ringgold (October 8, 1930 – April 12, 2024) was an American painter, author, mixed media sculptor, performance artist and activist. She is best known for her narrative quilts.
In this class, students will learn about Faith Ringgold, paint their own cloth and make a small quilt in the style made famous by Ringgold.
All supplies are included, but students are welcome to bring any embellishments that they want to use on their finished piece. Ages 14 and up.
Elizabeth Messick
Elizabeth Messick is an artist, naturalist and teacher with a background in community development, yoga, wilderness therapy and the healing arts.This unusual combination allows her to connect people of all ages to the joy of life. She believes we are all interconnected and that we need each other to help lift us up and shape our souls. From sharing art with children, to working with teens in transition periods, she is interested in the intersection of relationship and collaboration through the arts.
