Historical Hand Sewing: Garments
Workshop - Textiles | This class has been canceled
Join Sawtooth instructor and Guilford College art history professor Dr. Rachel Fesperman for an exploration of historical hand sewing techniques with a focus on garment construction and repair. Together, we’ll learn several basic hand sewing stitches sure to improve your sewing skillset, while studying examples of historical garments that have withstood the test of time. Though our focus is on the past, these techniques have many applications in the present day! By the end of our session, you’ll be ready to hand stitch or repair your own garments, both modern and historical.
