Students will learn and practice the basics of sharpening with a combination of slow speed grinding and water stones. The primary focus will be on chisels, hand plane blades, and scrapers. Students are encouraged to bring some of their tools to sharpen.

Additional Information:

  • This class is open to students ages 18 and up.
  • Registration closes one week prior to the start of class

Hollis, Tom

Tom Hollis is a biochemist at Wake Forest School of Medicine. He has been making contemporary and period furniture for almost 30 years. Tom has been trained by Lonnie Bird and self-taught.
