Explore the art of printmaking in a professional print studio, learning multiple printing techniques and becoming familiar with the printmaking process. Students will also be introduced to gelatin plates, using paper cutouts and found materials, creating amazing prints on paper by hand. Instruction on an etching press will be covered and will give students the opportunity to experience printing on the press.

    WATER We recommend bringing a refillable water bottle from home. Creating art makes you thirsty!

    SNACK Students are welcome to bring a snack to be eaten during our daily break times. Health + Food Allergy Notice: For the safety of others, students cannot share food. We ask for parents and guardians to be mindful of other children who may have potentially life-threatening allergies. To reduce this risk, please do not bring foods with peanuts and tree nuts.

    LUNCH If your child is attending both AM and PM camps, they will be supervised during a lunch and break period. Students must bring their lunch from home. This option is available only to students attending AM and PM camps in a week.

    ART SUPPLIES Sawtooth will provide all materials and supplies needed for camp. They may be asked to bring certain recycled materials from home, but this is not a requirement. 
Wu, Mona

A native of China, Mona Wu immigrated to US in 1970. She studied Chinese painting and calligraphy in Hong Kong then received her BA in Art History from Salem College in 1996. She also studied Printmaking at WFU as an auditor from 1997-2014. In 2003 Wu was selected as Sawtooth School of Visual Art Winston- Salem Artist of the year. She teaches Printmaking and Collage in the School. Wu is currently a member of Artworks Gallery, an artist co-op art gallery in downtown Winston-Salem.
