The term Contemplative Photography was coined by students of the Tibetan Meditation master Chögyam Trungpa. It is also known as Miksang, or “Good Eye”. This introductory Contemplative Photography Class offers a unique opportunity to experience a contemplative practice using your camera as a way to expand how you see and interact with the world.

In the class you will:

· Deconstruct and experience the basic visual forms: Color, Pattern & Texture, Light, Shadow, and foreground/background

· Receiver perceptions and experience them deeply

· “Re-image” the way that you think, talk about, and practice photography

· Tap into your creativity and inspiration

· Discover and explore the extraordinary in the ordinary and mundane

· Create images that reflect the clarity of having an aware, present, and still state of mind

Great for all levels of photographers, artists, artists at heart, or the curious wanting to explore the visual richness of their world. No photography experience is necessary! Just use whatever camera you have available, including your cell phone. Two class meetings include photographic assignments, discussion and rich sharing, and supportive critiques. Prerequisites: None AGES: 16-Adult
