5145. Enameling Pierced Forms Workshop

Workshop - Metals | This class has been canceled

Learn to use your jewelers saw proficiently to create a pierced copper piece that will then be enameled. Learn some tips and tricks with sawing (Annie has sawing down to an art) and consider the types of pierced forms that work well once enameled.

Create colorful patterned surfaces on your pierced copper forms with vitreous enamels. Experiment with layering opaque colors using sgraffito, stencils, gradients, and more. Try sugar-firing and adding inclusions such as frit, seed beads, and enamel threads. Practice enameling on flat and 3-D surfaces and discuss possible jewelry settings. All levels welcome.

All materials are included in the $15 materials fee collected during registration. You're welcome to bring a beverage and bag lunch or snacks and take a short lunch break each day.
