Join guest artist and metal clay master instructor Michael J. Marx of Unsane Art in an exploration of all things OWL!

In this silver metal clay Master Class design, create, fire and finish pieces of wearable sculpture that capture the energy of a quirky, adorable owl, and the beauty and variety of textures and forms available in metal clay. Use multiple methods of sculpting and texturing to create your feathery friend. Methods using metal clay with and without glass can be explored at the student’s discretion. Starting with a basic understanding of the method, push the design possibilities with additional embellishments and creativity!

Students should bring: 30+g of PMC Flex, standard toolkit, work surface, textures, press molds, etc., and at least two pieces of borosilicate or dichroic glass if desired.

Class kits are $30.00 and include: textures, mini-dome form, blue tack, wooden clothespin and mini wooden clothespin, string and a drinking straw. Additional items may be added as a surprise!!!

Marx, Michael

Michael Marx has been working with Metal Clay since 2001 and has been teaching since 2005. Michael holds Level 1 and 2 Certifications from PMC Connection and is Camp PMC Certified. He has taught everything from intro/beginner classes to advanced techniques to students across the USA with class sizes ranging from 1 on 1 to 16 students at a time. His preference is the advanced classes as he enjoys encouraging students to push their abilities to the next level.
