Welcome your neighborhood birds home this spring with a bentwood birdhouse! Learn a method of wood bending developed by the Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest that involves cutting notches across the grain and folding the wood to create a box with no corner joinery. The seamless corner created by this method will ensure that the elements are kept out and the birds stay nice and dry. Some other techniques involved in this project are mortise and tenon joinery for the landing and stitching together the single joint with sinew or hickory, depending on material availability.

Additional Information:
  • A $30 materials fee will be added to the total class fee at checkout.
