Class Description

Students will look at a number of American Impressionist painters and their Master works but will focus primarily on developing 5 key painting skills used by American Impressionists, primarily by landscape painters. These concepts are, Capturing Light, Luminism, Dveloping Atmosphere, Classic Compositions and Drawing Objects with Character.

Craig Richards

Craig has a deep love for the outdoors, spending most of his free time climbing, paddling and hiking. This love is reflected in the essence of his paintings and sculptures. His paintings are primarily in oils reflecting a variety of styles. His sculptures combine the feel of the natural world coupled with sparks of modern elements. He is the founding member of Triad Outdoor Painters a group of local artists in the NC Piedmont and Foothills and a long time member of Muddy River Art Association.
