This is a great class to start your jewelry-making pursuit, and an important class to repeat to gain more skills and have more time to practice. Learn the basics of creating jewelry from copper, brass and silver sheet and wire. Explore techniques such as sawing, forging, texturing, soldering, polishing and more to create handcrafted jewelry with your own personal style. Some metal is provided and other metal is available for purchase during class (copper and brass metal sheets are under $10 each.) Tools are provided or you may bring your own. The course is open to ages 14 through adult.

Davis, Nannette

Nannette Davis graduated from Kansas University with a bachelor’s degree in graphic arts and communication and a bachelor’s degree in fine art in metalsmithing. After working as a lead bench and assistant for a jewelry designer in Chicago, she built her studio and started a jewelry line. She worked for 16 years in Gatti-Davis Designs Studio in Colorado then moved to Winston-Salem in 2005 and taught in the public schools through 2011. She teaches classes at Sawtooth and sells her jewelry through craft shows and galleries.
