Davis, Mike

Mike Davis's foundations as a woodworker came from working in the sign industry and developed further in the antique business where he repaired, refinished and made custom pieces, But his love of woodworking bloomed through making heirloom quality toys for his children. His skills are self-taught with influences from many sources.

Mike has been a long standing member and past board member of North Carolina Woodworkers (ncwoodworker.net) and the first recipient of their Golden Mallet Award. He teaches wood working skills to beginning hobbyists from his own shop  and volunteers for the NCWW Outreach Program.

While working full time as a Jacquard weave designer, he finds time on weekends to explore woodturning on his lathe, and
build small furniture. Working mostly with local hardwoods, Mike enjoys crafting traditional joinery with mostly hand tools and a few power tools.
