Using a variety of mediums and approaches, the class will draw from the nude figure. The class is taught for all levels, though some general drawing experience will be helpful. The poses will consist of very short "gesture" positions as well as longer still ones, with the teacher demonstrating the approach and medium first, then helping individuals, one on one throughout the class. Some basic drawing materials will be provided, but students may bring their own specialized materials as well. Ages: 13 - Adult

  • Newsprint pad, 11” x 14” or larger
    10 sheets of higher quality drawing paper (Strathmore?), 11” x 14” or  larger
    set of 6 Staedler pencils
    vine charcoal
    compressed charcoal
    set of Conté crayons
    kneaded and rubber eraser
Lewis, Duncan

Duncan has been sculpting for over 30 years, and has created several large-scale outdoor public sculptures and fountains in Winston-Salem. He works in wood, metal, stone, clay and concrete. He maintains a foundry, and has taught at Penland, WSSU and Salem College. www.duncanglewis.com
