Citiscape Photography is a form of landscape photography that focuses primarily on skylines, geometric relationships, architecture, leading lines, and symmetry. In this class we will use the tools and techniques of landscape photography to photograph the 'modern' Winston Salem downtown from various vantage points. We’ll cover scouting, composition, camera settings, and post production. Two classes will be held in and around Downtown Winston Salem, including Bailey Park and other surrounding areas. Students should have a good understanding of their camera’s operation and the basics of exposure, but don’t need any prior experience with landscape shooting. Graduates of Digital Photo 1 or Intro to Landscape Photography should know all they need to get started. Ages: 15-Adult

  • Equipment needed: Any camera that allows full control of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO can be used.
Hurst, C. Stephen

C. Stephen Hurst recently moved to Winston-Salem from New York City where he spent many years as a professional photographer and instructor at the International School of Photography. Hurst is a self-taught photographer who emphasizes connection, anticipation, and communication through his process; some of Hurst’s photography clients have included the Disney Family Foundation, Nike, and Columbia Business School.
