Take your woodturning to new artistic dimensions in this two-day course on burning, carving, and coloring in the round. Try out milk paints, dye markers and finishes, as well as various hand and powered tools to create new textures. Proficiency in turning will be necessary as we'll spend the smaller portion of our class time turning objects to be embellished, and the greater portion doing the embellishing. Students are welcomed to bring pre-turned objects that can be secured in a four-jaw chuck, or to bring four to five blanks to work with during class. Alternatively, a set of blanks can be purchased from the instructor for $20. This class is open to students ages 18 and up. Masks and social distancing are required in this and all Sawtooth classes.
