Open Wood Studio is designed for the experienced woodworking student (not the beginner!) who wants access to the specialized tools and equipment available in the studio. Students should be familiar with shop tools and safety and provide their own projects/materials to work on. Limited storage space for projects/storing wood is available to rent for a monthly fee. please contact Director of Wood Programs, Josie Vogel, at wood@sawtooth.org or 336.723.7395 x1207 to confirm your project and wood studio availability before signing up for shop time. The class is open to students aged 18 and up. Masks and social distancing are required in this and all Sawtooth classes. For one three-hour open studio session, the day rate is $35, contact the wood director to schedule your time in advance. One month of open studio sessions is $120 and can be registered online. November open studio will skip the week of Thanksgiving, December open studio will will be priced for only two weeks of studio time. An entire season or three months of open studio can be registered online for a discounted rate of $320. Space for storing projects or materials can be rented for $15 per month. If you intend to store materials in the studio while you are enrolled, please select "Storage Fee" under additional items during checkout.
