Join visiting artist and metal clay master instructor Michael J. Marx of Unsane Art in an exploration of all things creepy crawly! In this 3-day advanced technique class, learn how to design, create, fire and finish your own piece of wearable silver metal clay sculpture... inspired by the fascinating world of bugs among us! Learn hollow-form, sculpting, coil rolling and texture layering techniques to create pieces that “come alive” in fine silver metal clay. Starting with a basic understanding of the construction method, Michael will teach you to push the design possibilities with further embellishment tips and tricks combined with your own creativity. If time allows, we’ll also learn methods of using glass in metal clay designs. A kit fee of $20 is payable to the instructor during class. Please bring your standard metal clay toolkit and your favorite textures (we'll have other textures here to choose from also). The recommended clay and quantity is 50g of PMC® Flex™ Silver Clay for the workshop. You'll be working exclusively in fine silver metal clay. This is an intermediate-to-advanced level workshop.
