In this 3 class online session students will learn how to create a short one- or two-page comics using drawing tablets and Clip Studio Paint (previously known as Manga Studio), the industry standard comics-drawing program. Students will develop a simple story idea and then make a colored, multi-paneled comic. Required skills: basic drawing skills and general familiarity with computers.

  • Either a Laptop or, a Tablet with a drawing pencil. A stable internet connection and the ability to log onto the Zoom.
Lopes, Natalia

Natalia is a queer Latinx illustrator making queer horror art, comics, and zines. She has a Masters in Art and Design from NC State University's College of Design, with a concentration on animation and visual storytelling. She runs MystoPress, a micropress that is home to her eerie and nightmarish works, and has been funding her comics on Kickstarter as of 2019. When she is not freelancing or working on new projects, she teaches classes to teens and adults in non-profit art centers around North Carolina.
