Workshop - Graphics | This class is completed
Using a variety of mediums and approaches, the class will draw from the nude figure. The class is taught for all levels, though some general drawing experience will be helpful. The poses will consist of very short "gesture" positions as well as longer still ones, with the teacher demonstrating the approach and medium first, then helping individuals, one on one throughout the class.
- Staedtler set of 6 drawing pencils or any variety of drawing pencils 2H-6B
- Crayola set of 10 markers
- Any of your other favorite drawing utensils such as charcoal or pastels (but not required)
- Soft paintbrush approximately ½”-2”
- 1 pad Cheap paper such as Strathmore 300 Series 9x11 Newsprint Pads or laser print paper
- 1 pad Better paper such as Strathmore drawing pad 11 x 14’
- Masking tape
- Cheap Joe's, Jerry's Artarama, and Dick Blick tend to be reasonably priced art supply sources.
Scott Betz
Betz has been a faculty member at Winston Salem State University since 2004, having also previously served at Weber State University, Mississippi State University, and the University of Tennessee. His background as an artist and educator spans more than 30 years. His work has been showcased internationally in exhibits in more than 100 countries, including China, Colombia, Australia, Argentina, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Taiwan, Korea, Canada, Japan, and across the United States.
