Welcome to this class offering the option of working in traditional copper foil method stained glass construction or fused and slumped glass (kiln fired). You can also choose to combine methods in one creation, fusing a piece to use in a stained glass panel. Both art forms require skills such as cutting and grinding glass, which you’ll learn along with design considerations. You’ll choose and purchase your own glass and accompanying materials, depending on the project you’d like to pursue. Sources and list discussed at the first class. Tools and equipment are available to share while in class, and outside studio time may be reserved to work on projects between classes. Kiln firings are included in the class fee. Class size is kept to a max of six students, so everyone will have lots of space to work and social distance. The class is open to students ages 14 and up. Masks and social distancing are required in this and all Sawtooth classes.
