Enjoy a family evening art activity exploring textures. Go on a scavenger hunt to find textures around you and create a textured collage. Learn about different types of printmaking and use the printmaking method of collagraph (collaged textures), to create a collagraph plate from found items and then make rubbings from your plate. (ages 6 & up)

Mahler, Katherine

Katherine Mahler is a Winston Salem based artist and teacher. She has been teaching art for 20 years to students of all ages. With degrees in Studio Art and Art Education, she is passionate about teaching students to think and work like artists. Katherine’s work has been shown in galleries and shows in Michigan, North Carolina, Louisiana and Texas. Her work is in several private collections across the country. Katherine started out as a sculptor and currently works in printmaking and mixed media exploring ideas around community, memory and identity.
