This workshop series is for highly motivated students seeking to study, learn, and paint realistically in oil or acrylic. Whether a complete beginner or just unsure about some of the fundamentals of painting, this course will equip you with the tools necessary for strong painting foundations. Viktoria will walk you through the most important elements of the traditional painting process (including painting materials, canvas preparation, composition, sketching, color mixing, value, as well as capturing light and shadow to create volume and form). You will be guided via pre-recorded classes, assignments, and Skype meetings. A supply list will be provided to you prior to the start of class. Please, be prepared to put the time and practice in as the course is thorough and comprehensive. Feedback meetings will last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours on June 28th and July 12th. Pre-recorded video lessons will be released beginning after the orientation meeting. Students should expect to put the following number of hours in, at minimum, for each pre-recorded video lesson and assignment in order to more fully understand the lesson material, medium, and technique.

• Week 1, 6/14 - Lesson I. + assignments (approximate total: 4 hrs) + Orientation
• Week 2, 6/21 - Lesson II. + assignments (approximate total: 6 hrs)
• Week 3, 6/28 - Lesson III. + assignments (approximate total: 5 hrs) + Feedback meeting
• Week 4, 7/5 - Lesson IV. + assignments (approximate total: 9 hrs to complete)
• Week 5, 7/12 - Final Feedback meeting

  • Students can work in oil or acrylic paint, using their own supplies. A supply list will be provided before class begins.
Majestic, Viktoria

Viktoria K. Majestic is a classically trained, Hungarian-American fine artist. She grew up in a small European town, where her interest in art and nature was formed at an early age. Her work has been largely influenced by the works of Zorn, Sorolla, Sargent, Levitan and some contemporary masters. She studied art both in Europe and in the United States, and her paintings can be found in collections throughout the world. Her paintings sensibly capture light, sensations and atmosphere. She has won numerous awards with her work and has exhibited at places such as the prestigious Salmagundi Club and the National Arts Club, among many others. Currently, she is an elected member of Oil Painters of America and the American Artists Professional League, where she has served as a director on the national board for 5 years. www.viktoriamajestic.com
